Intertraffic Istanbul confirms its leading role
The fifth edition of Intertraffic Istanbul, which took place on 27, 28 and 29 May in the Istanbul Expo Center, was deemed a success by all parties involved. The 138 exhibitors originating from 21 different countries represented a 35% increase from the previous edition. This was surpassed by the nearly 3,700 visitors from 63 countries, representing an impressive 50% increase. The event is hence fulfilling its role as leading trade fair for infrastructure, traffic management, safety and parking in Eurasia and the Middle East. Intertraffic Istanbul is organised by Amsterdam RAI in partnership with NTSR. The next edition will be scheduled for 2011.

"Metrobüs" awarded by Intertraffic Istanbul
Following the opening remarks of Intertraffic Istanbul, Mr. Kadir Topbas, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality was presented a plate for his contributions to the public transport and significant support to Metrobüs, a distinctive project, at the award ceremony organized within the context of public transport by Intertraffic Scientific Events Committee. According to the number of vehicles passing through Bogaziçi (Bosphorus) Bridge in March and April 2009, approximately 5,000,000 passengers were transported between two sides. On a daily average in two sides this corresponds to 165,000 passengers. Number of vehicles passing through Bogaziçi (Bosphorus) Bridge in a day has been decreased by around 7000 vehicles. This reveals the Metrobüs project has had a much greater effect on traffic than a new way to be built for private automobiles would have.
